I grew up outside Washington, D.C, and have lived all over the East and West Coasts, in the Midwest, and in Europe. I majored in Comparative Literature at Northwestern University, got an MA in English Literature at University College London, and most recently received an MFA in Creative Writing (Fiction) from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, where I was a 2020 University of Iowa Writers’ Room Fellow for television writing. I’m proud to be a member of the Writers Guild of America.

A bit about me:

Before getting my MFA, I spent time as a fact-checker and Reporter Researcher at The New Republic, as the Upper School Library Assistant at Sidwell Friends School, and (for one week) as a cook on a sheep farm in New Zealand. More recently, I’ve taught both undergraduate Interpretation of Literature and Fiction Writing at the University of Iowa, tutored middle grade students at 826LA, and covered sections of ninth through 12th grade English for Stanford Online High School. I’ve also worked for five years as an instructor for the Iowa Young Writers’ Studio.

Some cool things I’ve read this year are You Dreamed of Empires by Álvaro Enrigue, Sad Little Breathing Machine by Matthea Harvey, and Fulfillment by Lee Cole.
